I use 2500 and 3000 size reels more than enough.

I use my old mans cane rod with stelite reel once or twice season. love the sound of that reel going off reminds me of good times when I was young.

I have seen people fishing at the end of Bayview st williamatown and along to the life saving club, probably check it out on google maps to find the holes.
Unsure what they catch prob pinkies flathead squid, salmon etc

The fishing around Altona has been so poor I have given up for this season. Will do some work on the boat, regroup and hit it again in late Sept

I went on a 5 day trip with Arafura Blue Water Charters (Darwin) and I could not fault it.

I have never seen as many yackas off Altona at the minute, catchin them on a Sabiki with a touch of whitebait and getting them 2 or 3 at a time.
Freezing them for Sept.
Sounder is blacked out all through the water column.

There has the odd Ting caught behind the Willi footy ground and surrounds, they r hard to get but the fish caught are very good size.

I have not had much luck around Altona lately.

Urchards bluff(sp) can be fished i have heard.

Whiting have been few and far between in my end of PPB. Lately everything has been few and far between except yakkas
