Prom Kingfish report

Had a great few trips on the kings over the past week out of Welshpool.

With the warm weather they have been taking surface lures as well as jigs.

No monsters yet but plenty of size fish providing some good fun.

Re: Port Welshpool - 23/12

8-10m depth is easily within casting distance from the pier fellas. Gummies and pinkies will come up that channel, plenty of flathead and lots of squid.

Your a chance for a kingie if you bring the right gear at the moment as well....

Re: Who's going to Bermagui this March?

Who's heading upto Bermagui in March? I was looking at accommodation and looks Looks like the majority of the town is booked out. I haven't been there in 2 years has something happened that I don't know about? There’s a fishing comp on the labour day weekend, as well as the dog show, as well as som...

Re: Bar crusher v Surtees v Extreme

In terms of price, the Barcrusher is the cheapest usually but not by much, and you end up with less boat just like the surtees. Extreme and stabi are usually about the same price. For comparisons sake they are all reasonably similar as they are all in direct competition with each other. Ironically t...

Re: Bar crusher v Surtees v Extreme

As I said I’ve fished out of all 4 hulls in the 6.5m range, and the only 2 I would own are the extreme and stabi, both which I felt entirely at ease in 30knot conditions. In the stabi and barcrusher, they both felt like much smaller boats in the water than what the sticker said on the side. To summa...

Re: Bar crusher v Surtees v Extreme

Extreme by a mile. I’ve fished out of all three and it’s an easy choice. The only other alloy that I’d consider is stabicraft (is even suggest that the ride is better in stability because of the stability from the pontoons). But they lose out on the fact that they are so ugly. Full disclosure I own ...

White Soft plastics, or surface hopping stickbaits, max 30lb leader as they are a bit shy. Good luck!

Re: Port Welshpool January LB

Kingies are cruising around the submerged pylons nearly every day, don’t like your chances landing one with all the obstacles but ya never know

Nice one mate, at least you found one as I hear there were plenty of donuts! Did you end up fishing in the area I suggested?
