Re: Carp catch and release?????
That`s just daft to be honest mate. If all the blokes who are currently knocking them on the head started releasing them, I think there would be a difference, you`ve got to draw a line somewhere. I'm just saying thats my view. The amount of carp I catch and release would be maybe 10 a year, some up...

Re: Carp catch and release?????
Just a little side-note on a misconception about releasing carp. To release a carp because you dont want to kill it, is a valid excuse. Fisheries cant fine you, you cannot be forced into killing something. Personally I dont think it makes any difference to the numbers whether you kill or release. Th...

Re: TAMBO!!! or MARLO?
I'd be hitting Marlo. You've more species to target there (Bream, Bass, EP's, Flattys, Luderick etc).
Apart from fishing the river/s, you can also hit the surf beach for some cracker Salmon on lures.

Re: Just joined up
Thanks again for the warm welcome guys.
I'm loving all the land-based fishing on here, great timing, because it wont be long before it's too wet and cold for the yak.
I'd imagine there's some die-hard yakkers here who'll say I'm soft...and I'd agree with them too!
Cheers, Greggo.

Hi there. This looks like a great site with loads of cool tips and info... I don't know why I wasn't on here sooner. I mostly fish estuary systems, including the Yarra. I use a yak, mostly targeting Bream, Jewies and Pinkies in the Yarra and Bass and EP's further East. Hopefully I can contribute as ...
