Thanks for the responses guys i appreciate the help.

I think i'll stick with a monofilament for the time being as i'm more comfortable and familiar with it. I do remember Maxima and Platypus.

Whats the go with braided lines? Do i use the same blood/half blood knots?

Forgive my mistake, it was definately Golden Perch. I'm guessing Golden Perch and Yellow Bellies are the same thing. I'll give the spill way a go definately, sounds more like my kind of action. I have access to a fishing Kayak but no idea on how to actually use one so i'll probably stick to land bas...

Thanks mate, i have everything i just want to replace the line on my old spinning rods. I seem to remember Daiwa as a decent brand but can't seem to think of the other one.
