Re: Fishing in Bright over Xmas
Finally i can contribute! If you want to try something slightly different and enjoy a trip at the same time, cruise up to Falls Creek about 5pm. Have an early-ish dinner at one of the resteraunts then head down to Pretty Valley Dam about an hour before sunset. You'll come to a fork in the road, one ...

That's a beautiful bit of river mate, very much my style!
Re: Lake Hume
Thanks guys, i'll try a combination of all of these things. Definately looking at spinning the stretch of murray between the wall and albury and also the lake itself as an absolute minimum. I'll keep a log in the freshwater fishing section in here and see how we go. Crazy excited for this now, just ...

Re: Hello All
Thanks for the responses guys i appreciate the help.
I think i'll stick with a monofilament for the time being as i'm more comfortable and familiar with it. I do remember Maxima and Platypus.
Whats the go with braided lines? Do i use the same blood/half blood knots?

I have access to a fishing Kayak but no idea on how to actually use one so i'll probably stick to land bas...
Re: Lake Hume
Thank you for the response Wading, that is a lot of information. I'm not sure i'm going to have access to a boat and prefer to just spin off the land so i'll have a crack at the River, we're staying just by that bridge you mentioned. According to the fisheries stock list (which i found thanks to thi...

Hello All
Doug here, Haven't been fishing in nearly 15 years. Took up combat sports in my mid teens and that carried me through to nearly 30, thanks to a back injury my fighting days are over and getting back into the fishing scene. Grew up fishing in Hervey Bay QLD with my two uncles and spent a lot of time ...
Lake Hume
Hi Guys, I did a LOT of freshwater spinning about 10-15 years ago through the Eildon basin and the Goulburn river and it's tribs, got out of it for a while and thanks to a major back injury i'm looking at taking it back up. The new GF has a place at lake Hume and i have a couple of questions if anyo...
