Re: Back in lockdown again.

The extra doses going to NSW were allegedly separate from the supply from Poland and the doses taken from the national reserve supply. Every state has the capacity to request that part of their allocation be fast tracked in given circumstances such as an outbreak. They don't get extra but get it fa...

Re: Back in lockdown again.

I thought the COVID vaccine didn’t prevent you from spreading it it just made the effects of COVID less and gave you a smaller chance of death and that even if you are fully vaccinated you can still spread covid The reasons for vaccination are in order of priority are 1. reduce death, 2. reduce ser...

Re: Back in lockdown again.

What about kids will. Great question! First thing is the priority with the whole pandemic is to minimise deaths and serious illness. Fortunately this is quite rare in children under 12. There is something we will have to keep an eye on I'll mention in a moment. The detailed modelling being done for...

Re: Back in lockdown again.

As I indicated the Burnet Institute has been modelling for the NSW Government and provided a detailed report on August 25 which is not publicly available. Today the Premier released a document illustrating the likely daily cases and hospitalisations. It can be accessed here: https://www.nsw.gov.au/s...

Re: Back in lockdown again.

Which LGA has Reff of 4. Looks like more direct intervention with that LGA is required. Where dis the soread occur, workplaces? The information is not being made freely available and I think it should - other countries do it and it can help educate the public. As to where I'm not going to be specif...

Re: Back in lockdown again.

and this is why a lot of people pretend to scan the QR code Matt I do get that. The scariest bit is that how it works, when you get the messages etc is not clear. That is stressful. A nice clear cut doc would help a lot that could be read on line. The available info isn't great. At the very least i...

Re: Back in lockdown again.

I was directly exposed at work during the Shepparton outbreak and therefore considered a Tier 1 exposure. What happens, or is supposed to happen, is this. 1. Your employer contacts you, informs you that you are Tier 1, and that you are under stay at home orders. You cannot leave home except for a co...

Re: Back in lockdown again.

Ok I said I would provide a bit of an overview this morning and the numbers today aren't great. I do think they might have been influenced by a bit of a backlog in some testing over the weekend. If this trend continues it is going to get very ugly. I'll wait another day to see if this firms up befor...

Re: Back in lockdown again.

I'll add that the wave thats coming over the next two months may well 'vaccinate' many hundreds of thousands of Victorians unwillingly and at a very magnified risk of getting seriously ill.

While you have the chance get the vaccine. In Shepparton we even have Jabba the Bus!
