Further up the rivers. We've had basically no rain for almost 2 weeks now

Re: Shallow water bronzies
Any hook is fine. Mustad 7699D, Owner Jobu etc etc. Could mix in a bigger hook if you feel like it. Realistically you'll be putting about 8kg of pressure maximum if you're running 15kg outfits so your only real issues would be potential tail wraps, which the wind on helps with, and a bigger shark cr...

Re: Shallow water bronzies
200lb with a single 10/0 is fine with a similar or slightly heavier wind on/shock leader. If push comes to shove you can always up anchor and get towed around or give chase. Most are only going to be that 40-120kg mark as it is anyway. You're really just trying to get the bait as far away from the b...

Tie the balloon to the swivel/snap swivel a bit over the metre mark from the hook. You'll still get the occasional car bonnet sized rays/skate

Re: carp at Shepperton lake
Lightly or unweighted grubs barely worked and allowed to slowly sink at sighted fish. White is obviously dynamite. Old school Berkley bulky hawgs go alright too if you can find any. Sight the fish, cast over the fish, bring the lure back near the fish, allow it to slowly sink or suspend depending on...

Re: Talking fishing
Apart from seeing him on the show I know very little about Kramer so don’t have an opinion about him. But I’m curious as to why many people here have such a negative view of him. What’s he done to cause such angst. I’m neither a supporter nor critic. As I said, I don’t know enough about him to have...

Re: Shimano Terez 7'2 20 - 50lb with Saragosa 8000
It does have a nice action. Now I just gotta figure out the braid aspect. First time ever using it. Always used mono. I need a mono leader on braid? Tied directly or with a swivel? I might google it after work this arvo Just run the bog standard "westernport rig". Slide running on the braid for sin...

Re: how to spool a bait caster reel the right way
Electrical tape is best as it's got a bit of stretch and grips against the braid under pressure. The whole reason for mono backing is to give the braid something to grip to, not just slip on the spool and free itself with little resistance. The tape provides that grip instead of using mono

Perfect setup for Western Port. Far better to have in the hand on a big bastard ray than one of your old setups

Re: how to spool a bait caster reel the right way
Nope. If the spool has holes then just tie a half shoddy knot through one of them, otherwise 1 wrap of electrical tape over the spool and tie the braid direct to that
