21st & 22nd Snapper Report.
Its again been a bit of a stretch since my last report on here. That is due to a few things.. Smashed by weed flowing through the tide in my last 3 trips during September. A fuel/motor issue that is now resolved, and of course.. bad weather and winds. But it seems that as of the last week or so we'v...

Snapper - Unlocking the Simple Code
I think, along with Squid, Snapper are one of the stupidest fish there is. And surprisingly one of the easiest to catch, if you know the simple things of what "stupid" does. It's just trying to find that what works and doing it. They are Scavengers more than they are Predators. If they are on the ch...

An eventful evening catching South Australian Blue Swimmer Crabs
Those succulent Blue Swimmer Crabs are starting to fire here in South Australia, so Wednesday afternoon, evening looked the goods for a session on the planks of Semaphore Jetty. A friend who has come Crabbing with me a few times has asked if I could make them a simple trolley with trays/compartments...

10,000th Tasmanian trout caught..
Well, I couldn't sit around home as I wanted to get out there and catch my 10,000th wild Tasmanian trout seeing as I only needed another seven to reach it.. Was a little late hitting the water but was still feeling confident of doing well on the trout. It turned out to be a great spin session with 1...

Re: Cup day morning session.
Now that's a fish Well done.
You're right, even with the best plans, sometimes you're not feeling it. Always best to listen to the gut, and back the knowledge , , , , a move and "BAM" a buckled over rod.
Well done LX
Cheers, Bugs

Trout fall to the White Miller...
Trout fall to the White Miller Bug spinner. Wild windy weather is going to hit later today and it's going to hang around for the next few days so I thought I'd better get a spin session in before it arrives. When I arrived at 9:05am the first thing I noticed the water level had risen by around three...

Werribee South Ting 9/1/2020
After hearing many reports of ting being caught around the Altona area I decided it was time to take a crack and see what all the fuss was about. I headed out on Wednesday around Altona and Point Cook in search but came up with donuts. I changed numerous spot, burleyed hard and also made sure I was ...

Chasing wild trout in the upper Mersey.
Chasing wild trout in the upper Mersey. Seeing as it's been around ten or eleven weeks since I've fished the upper Mersey River I thought today would be the ideal day to do it with light winds & overcast conditions forecast. Getting to the river where I'll be fishing is one that's as tough as it can...
