They say that the first spike on the dorsal fin in poisonous. Im not sure how true this is, but it certainly makes the area go numb and is annoying for about half an hour. Wouldn't surprise me if it was venomous. The ones on the gills are the worry though, you're right in the firing line when they ...

Just saw this come up on another forum. We don't have anywhere near the amount of money involved in fishing comps compared to the US but there's always still the odd rumour floating around about people tethering cod or whatever. That's cos the reddies eat them. Not to mention the stress to a small fish that comes from dumping them in a different type of water. Someone posted some research here a while back showing that only a few percent of the fish stocked make it. It sounds bad but that's the reality of fish reproduction,...
