I've got one in the kayak, it's got a good water tight plug and the battery itself is fully sealed so it doesn't matter if it gets a bit wet. A battery that size will run the fish finder for a few days which is handy if you...

Re: One for the squid experts

Looking at the area more closely (thanks Nudie for the location) it looks like the water is a bit discoloured around there, presumably because it's the mouth of a river. Down here at least that wouldn't usually be considered good for squidding but who knows what weird Queensland squid are into. Look...

A fishing report for a change

I headed out to the local this evening to do a bit of bait/burley collecting for the coming warmer months. I wasn't sure what I'd get but figured a bit of burley, some chicken and some pilchard under floats should see me catch something for the vac sealer. As it happened it was salmon and some small...

Nice one...how does the salmon go once its been vac-sealed and frozen?
A little mushy but as long as there’s a bit of skin to put the hook through it’s ok.
