Re: This is good stuff.

Masterfoods lemon pepper seasoning mixed with flour isnt bad either. My favourite is to cut the tube in half and lightly score in a crisscross pattern and cut into triangles about an inch or so wide. Heat a pan and add a teaspoon or so of coconut oil. When its smoking hot throw in the calamari and t...

Apollo Bay - 08/06 - AM

A late'ish report... but better late than never I guess. It has been more than several weeks since my last trip to Apollo Bay, and with the cooler weather settling in I thought to try for some salmon off the break-wall. I left home around 3am to time my arrival an hour'ish before sun-up. The last 40...

Can anyone tell me why you bleed so much after getting jabbed by a flathead?
Never been spiked myself, but had heard you'll get some relief by having somebody pee on it ( the puncture wound , not the fish) . ...and everyone knows you don't go wasting decent alcohol on a flesh wound.

Keeping, Freezing and Thawing our catch

Just sharing a few tips that I found work for me with "keeping", "freezing" and "thawing" my catch. Keeping and Dispatching Firstly, I always try to (80% of the time for fish BUT 100% of the time with Crabs) try to dispatch my catch in an ice slurry. For those unaware, that's ice and a little sea wa...

Long time reader, unlucky fisher

Hello all, Been reading fishing reports on this forum for the last few years since moving to Vic, although it hasn't helped me much. I am a keen fisherman and for the most part have had zero luck on my adventures in this fine state. Whenever I go home to SA, the fish start biting again. I am near th...
