Boof Diary 2019

Since the debacle at the Codference my closest friends have told me that I’ve changed, that I don’t mix with people and rarely smile. Its probably true after that let down, I know that I rarely get a good nights’ sleep now and have a very negative view of the future. I’ve come to accept that the dre...

Re: Boof Diary 2019

Apr 29 Murray River Murray cod ≈ 130 cm sunset Murray cod ≈ 93 cm sunset Apr 30 Murray River Morning, no boofs I bent the wing of the musky lure on the cod a few weeks ago so after setting up camp I flicked it out at camp a few yards a dozen times bending the wings to retune it. An 80+ cod hit it ne...

Re: "Big Redfin" challenge

I dunno much about them but I pulled a 47cm fish out of the local last saturday. Funnily enough I'd hooked a bit of weed and was ripping the lure back to get the weed off and re-cast when the fish smashed it.

Re: Boof Diary 2019

How did you go targeting blackfish any luck? Rb I hiked into a hard to get to area of the Bunyip River. I caught grayling and big eels but no blackies. I think the population was decimated by the black Thursday bushfires. They have been hit again with fires recently. Was great habitat: great habita...

Good day with 21 trout caught & released.

Had a great day in a small tannin river yesterday using the Mepps Aglia Mouche Noire inline copper blade spinner. Conditions were quite cool early on but became better as the day went on. Water level was low but still good enough to be able to pick up a few trout. Well, it turned out to be a top day...

Re: The Boof Diary Fishranger

not sure there's much of a pattern there I have picked something up allready not going to post it will see if someone else does. The rapid drop in barometer also mentioned. It might give a signal to cods that storm/cold is coming, hence pack up some calories. Pretty cool theory. Not in relation to ...

Sanctuary Lakes breams

This is a little bit of a late report, but I believe the info can be useful. I'm trying to make the report as informative as possible (inspired by Truedogz). Believe it or not, I live in Point Cook (minutes away from Sanctuary Lakes) and this was the first time I fished there. Been living in Point C...

Re: Sanctuary Lakes breams 28/04/2019

Good informative report. I like your format. One of the problems with surface lures is that they tend to be pushed out of the way by the fish trying to eat them. The pressure wave in the front of the fish often pushes the lure up. This is why attaching an assist hook can really boost your hook-up ra...

Last two trips of the 2018/19 trout season..(short version)

April 27th The day before season closure.. Had a hunt around on Google Earth to find a new small tannin water to try out to see if there may be a trout or two in one. Did find one that I had found several years ago and forgot all about it. Was a little undecided about going today(27th) due to gale f...
