I suggest using a landing net next time. It can be a bit awkward reaching for a big fish with your bare hands. Easier to tire them out and then slip the net in behind them. Has never failed me, but then I've never gotten close to landing something 115cm long!

Used to love fishing the Nong around the Canning St bridge. Might have to give it another go soon if I can make the time for the right tide.
