Yeah, I think to the depth of the pier makes a difference.
I know when we get them at St Leonards over winter it always seems to be when the tide is higher.

To me, pier fishing is generally best on incoming tide. But for salmon, they're quite mobile, I've caught them on any tides.

Depends which section of campaspe. The lower section has cod abd yellowbelly. Chance of redfin and ofc carp. Trout is closed til 2 Sept. Cod is closed Sept and open in Dec. These are the 1000 big, 3kg Rainbows they are stocking into those lakes
