Re: Squid tumbler
Cheers bug. Gonna make some parmas tonight I'll give this a go. On chicken do you go flower > egg > tandaco or just dip the fillets straight in the tandaco? Cheers All easy as, easiest way to make Schnitzels , , , , no need for flour or egg (The Tandaco must have a flour content in it already which...

Re: Swags
I have been using the Oztrail Stockade stretcher tent for the last couple of years and absolutely love it. https://www.snowys.com.au/ultimate-all-weather-stretcher-single (i wrote a small review on this site too). It takes about 5mins to set up and pull down once you get the hang on if (check out Sn...

Re: Keeping, Freezing and Thawing our catch
Great tips. Its pretty simple.. respect and look after your catch. When freezing try to dry the fish as much as possible with a towel and get rid of all the air, if you freeze a lot of stuff i highly recommend a vac machine. They are not expensive these days and will greatly improve the freezing pro...

Re: Keeping, Freezing and Thawing our catch
Good point about drying the fish. I have seen that the guys with Vac Seal machines, lay the fillets out on paper towel for a while and then Vac Seal them, they swear by it. Cheers, Bugz (not those in that Kitchen , , , , a differnt Bugz) Yeah vac packing is great for lots of stuff. We use them dail...

Re: 25/6/2019 Squid Session
When we got back, we had a chat to another guy who had been out for 5-6 hours all over without much success with his daughter. They both seemed nice and friendly and so we gave them 4 squid from our catch which they were very happy about. Great day out there LX. And a haul of squid is always good f...

Re: Gillies squid jigs
I agree with Aaron, when the squid are on i reckon you could catch them with bottle caps. The squid dont care how much you paid for them. I cant even remember what all my jigs are or what they cost, i just choose a colour and give it a try. If i dont get a hit after about 15 casts i try another colo...

Re: Wavedance Kingfisher Kayak
Great yaks too.
I have the same one, although i havent used it for a few years and its not as well decked out as Brett's. They handle chop really well and paddle straight and fast at that length and have great stability. These are excellent yaks for use in the bay.
Good luck with the sale Brett.

Re: Barometric pressure
My understanding is that you want a few days of stable barometric pressure, regardless of what the barometer reading is. When the barometer starts to drop the fish sense bad weather coming and get in a quick feed while they can. I dont know about all that though, the only thing i know for sure is th...
