A recent trip to the Murray

After the passing of my father recently P1280108.JPG a trip away was needed so along with Brett we headed up the river. We arrived early Friday arvo and quickly threw up a camp, IMG_1022.JPG and cut some fire wood. IMG_1026.JPG It was pretty eerie, no boats sighted on the river all weekend, only one...

Re: A recent trip to the Murray

Dave, sorry to hear of the passing of your dad. A good innings and a full life lived - the pic on the riverbank a memory frozen in time. Sounds like a tough year all round. I recently snuck up to the Murray for a few nights just to enjoy the solitude, watch the river flow and contemplate life. It pu...

Re: A recent trip to the Murray

I still can’t get over how quiet it was, very eerie indeed. Was definitely a well needed getaway for both of us, after the going ons of the last cpl of weeks. Thanks for allowing me to come. I’ll add some photos and possibly videos, when I get on the pc instead of the iPad. Hopefully these work. Mak...

Re: What’s Your Fishing Resume?

Born in Sunshine, grew up in the eastern suburbs and spent a lot of time in NE Victoria. My step grandad was a VPC delegate and lobbied for regulations to protect native fish. Dad and my uncle were keen anglers, chasing natives, trout and reddies, and dad was an honorary fishing inspector. My earlie...

Re: Tips for Moorabool / Bostock Reservoirs

Hi and welcome, I've fished those reservoirs in the past in winter. Like anywhere else, low light condition is the best. So if it's gonna be a sunny day, fish really early morning or late afternoon. They can be right on the edge, so dont stand too close. They'll be in the deeper water during the day...

Curlewis glass

Launched at Clifton Springs today in awesome winter conditions and after picking up a small squid for bait near the old jetty headed over to Curlewis Bank in search of a KGW or two. Now that the motor's nearly reached 10 hours I can open it right up for 5 min bursts and read 37.9 knots on the gps so...

Krakka Yakkaz first meet/comp

Headed over to Lang Lang for the first Krakka Yakkaz comp. Turned out to be a very popular even with over 35 kayaks entered. It was a cold but calm, early start albeit it a little uncomfortable as I forgot my kayak seat  https://scontent.fmel8-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/67573296_1015658463318087...
