Re: Eildon pondage
Great job on a slow day. I'm making my first pilgrimage to Eildon in a week or so and I'd be happy with a 2kg trout!

Re: What's in your too hard basket?
Camping! I did a lot of camping when I was fishing as a teenager and twenties but now in my mid-fifties, I could not think of anything worse.

Re: Upper Coliban Reservoir Report
Mate I had a tin of corn in the tackle bag! I've been a diehard bait fisho since I picked up a rod but I've been making the transition to lures recently so I forced myself to persevere with the SPs. In the Kyneton lakes I tend to have a rod out with corn for carp and the other I tend to alternate b...

I gave the Upper Coliban a go yesterday even though it was blowing a gale. For some reason the wall was closed to fishing (anyone know why?), so I ended up at the Premier mine road end. I ended up with a brown trout about 11", a rainbow trout about 6" and a chunky redfin about 12". I also dropped an...

Re: Another Upper Coliban Res report
@Bugatti I'm metric in the vast majority of things (hell, I teach maths), but fish are commonly expressed in inches. Also, I never accurately measure fish I intend to let go; I net them, snip the line and let them swim away without touching them if possible.

Malmsbury report
I'm a little late with this as I've been run off my feet this week, but I fished the Malmsbury reservoir Monday afternoon/evening. I caught six carp all about 45cm (give or take a few cm) and a brown trout about 15cm. There were insects everywhere and from mid arvo onward the trout were rising every...

Re: Malmsbury report
How's the access? I believe it's now opened for kayak. Might try to fish there with my yak. The access to the water is pretty good but there are restrictions where you can enter the water and where you can fish. I have read the signs and I cannot make heads nor tails of them. Ah okay. Thanks :tu: I...

Re: Keilor Village Maribinong River Fishing
Although I never fished this section of the Maribynong river I have followed the walking tracks in the area and there some nice pools with five minutes walk further back from the bridge toward Brimbank park.
