Yes, there are; they come and go - they favour Tuesdays and Fridays for some reason. They tend to visit certain spots but any old place is worth a crack. Good luck.

Inspired by DougieK's Portland adventure, I picked up a Shimano Revolution 802 2 piece from Anaconda recently; heavy rated (p4-8, or 40lb-80lb), but not too heavy to hold. Can't wait to float it off some structure. Seems a decent rod.

FWIW, saw plenty of kayaks, between Webb Dock and Station Pier, yesterday morning; water was great (between 0500 and 0900).
