Well done, I fished on Saturday for a bag of squid, the NW wind and run out tide made it pretty hard work.

KGs Rock at St Leonards Vict

:water: Went out from St Leonards yesterday, swell was up a bit but didn't bother the fish.
Four fisherman, bagged out in 3hrs after a slowish start. We through back three fish that were undersized the rest made it easily.
Tenderised squid was only bait we tried and some of the fish were coughing up sand worms. Used size 6 circle hooks for the first time on whiting, took a little to get use to but could strike gently at the fish with a good hook up rate and very few fell off. About 15m of water with the tide running and the wind blowing, not the most comfortable session but made easier because we caught them. Basic patanoster rig work well and of course there were a few Banjo's around that we just hoped were good snapper. Maybe next time!

Nice catch gards. 15m is sounds pretty deep for whiting. Shouldn't be to long till the snapper and gummies start biting, can't wait

Hey fish seeker - that's a very polite way to say I added a m instead of ft. Thanks!
Yep - caught in 15ft of water....
Off to shallow inlet next week, any tips?

Going to head out tomorrow morning off Leonards and give it a go. Any reports from the past week from there?? Going to give the whiting and squid a go and maybe flathead if we are desperate
