Whiting spots near Wallan

Hey lads, just wondering where the closest spot to Wallan would be for whiting. Was fishing with mates in QLD at the start of the year and quite enjoyed so went out and bought a small rig today. Just looking to try and snag some whiting for now and eventually move up to bigger things in the future. Any help appreciated.

Boat or landbased? If boat Werribee area is probably your best option, not sure if the whiting have turned up yet or not.

It'll be landbased to begin with until i can save up the cash for a small boat then it'll be weekend trips to further places
