Coronet Bay 23/12

Post by cheaterparts » Sun Dec 23, 2018 8:13 pm

Winchbitch ( Mal ) and myself did a Coronet bay launch this morning kayaking of cause - tide was down so we moved out bit to a bit of a gutter and it was slow going to start couldn't even find a toad to steel a bait
so with after a couple of moves and the tide filling we found some Whiting around on the weed line in the reef island bay
a slight breeze go up and I think that helps , water to calm has the whiting a bit flighty fishing shallow - fish were caught in 2 - 2.5 meters

I came away with 17 KGW mostly in the low 30s but one @ 40 and a 41 cm flatty - Mal 10 slappers and i think a couple of squid

so a good feed and a top day for a paddle --- no pics just slack I guess
My kayak PBs

Hey mate, my holiday place is the last house on champs elysees, literally 150 meters from the ramp in C Bay.

Where abouts off that ramp are the good weed beds for KGW? Just got my jetski fish pro, planning to get out weds Thursday fri

check the link this is Google earths view of Coronet bay you can see the sand and weed patches - in the past I have caught whiting 150 meter straight in front of the ramp but whiting are where you find them and all whiting fishos move a lot to find them on the day

Google earth is your best friend while look for likely grounds though and ther is a large area for you to explore
