Denis, I,ve always skinned Whiting fillets cos can,t be bothered scaling them and it is so easy.(Same with Flatties).
Obviously you leave the skin on, would like to hear why you (and maybe others) prefer to scale and skin on.

To find a fish
You do the miles.
Catch the fish
and earn the smiles.

Lord, allow me to catch a fish, so large that even I,when speaking of it afterwards.........May have no need to lie !!!

They contain nutrients. Cutting em off is like wasting food

I drag the caught fush behind the boat in a Modified Scaling Bag-No slim or scale left on
Take a fillet each side then cut the rib cage out
Skin on as its easier to do and gives the fillet some body

Well done on another great catch..
Incidentally, how have you ‘modified’your scaling bag.
Also, have you used it for cleaning squid; if so, were you pleased with the result?
Regards, pedr0
