I wish I had known about this comp. I have been landing some good ones off the beach lately :(

not gonna ask for your exact location but ive never tried going for squid in places other than piers or mt martha rocks.

Do you use floats or just flick jigs? and was it in PPB or westernport?

These were caught with a silver whiting suspended under a float in WP.

Went down to local pier this morning for a quick flick. Arrived at the spot and only one guy squidding. Love Monday fishing. Then another five squidders join in after half an hour or so. Thought to myself not gonna that many squid to be share by seven squidders. Long story short, caught the biggest one just after sunrise. The rest around one hour before. Good Monday morning. Went home at 8am. Thanks to the guy who net the squid for me. Appreciate it mate.
