We've got Bream or Brown Trout to fish for here in Tassie so I'll be going for the Browns.
Good Luck to every one who has entered, all for a good cause whether you fish it or not too.
cheers

is winning fish the biggest fish in each category or the closest to the mystery length?

There is a prize for largest (length) of each variety. However, the best prize is the mystery length for each species. Every entrant can only enter one fish on the day - not sure why but they the rules!

I think the Random length is just that? I think the Salmon last year was something like 43.7cm?
Not a bad idea though, means everyone is in with a shot :) My problem is how to take a pic of the fish on the mat in the Yak?

your right there - last pirtek trying to get a pic of a flatty on those slippery pirtex measure mats was a joke
We were out in at least 15 kt wind at Cleeland Bight and it was pretty bumpy - the fish just kept sliding off the mat
it would have been easier to brain spike them first but pirtex wont only live fish measured

Bugger, I was going to ask the Yak guru's advice too!!
My thought is gluing the mat to a small bit of laminate flooring, with 2 big elastic bands on it,
one band each end of the fish to hold it to the mat, and just strap the board to the side of the yak?
