Ps I was nearly leading the comp with a 7cm Redfin that chased the 45mm lure I was flicking around auravale lake with my son for the last hour.
Cool...make that the final list then..done and dusted...just gotta wait for the poll to finish regarding entry fee, and we are set to rock and or roll..

Yeah I decided to delay the start until the 8th. I should have listened to you last night Carl. Haha

On the 7th I will do a proper write up and start the official thread where all the rules are laid out clearly. And where all the entries must be posted. At that time we can close these other threads and keep it all in the one.

Looks awesome. I haven't caught a freshwater fish since probably 1987. Willing to give it a go. I always used garden worms in fresh water and done well from memory.

Maybe this could be an annual event, could use abit if the prize money to get a small trophy for the winner.
I also don't think BCF vouchers are good. Maybe a Visa card voucher, so thy winner can purchase from any retail or online store.

So are there two divisions, fresh and salt, with a separate prize for each division? Or is it just the total cm of all 10 species?

Total length of all species mate. Means you would have to catch fish in both disciplines to win. Pretty much to win the comp you would have to be a well rounded angler. I know in the freshwater species I've only caught about 8 brown trout and 2 carp. Haha

Cool sounds like fun. I've done bugger all fresh water fishing so it'll be interesting, I've caught a bunch of carp, a few reddies and one yellow belly. I'll definitely struggle with this one, but I'll enter anyway. Finding the time to actually get out for a fish will be my biggest challenge.

You've got to sing to the carp cheater ;) cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them
