If you only want to catch eels and nothing else, red meat (eg beef). Bacon rinds if you're on a tight budget

I've heard that liver is also a good bait. Only eels (and maybe turtles, if they're hungry) will go for it...

Cheese paste will often tempt an eel.

If you after really big eels some fresh prawns from the supermarket will do the trick.

Buy a **** cheap cut of steak, leave outside for 2 days. Dice up and place a cube on hook

just use prawns smaller the better ...... the last time i went to get more gummy bait i got 11 with 8 small enough to keep for bait
