Thanks bm. Appreciate the input. Got some stump jumpers so will give them a roll in the warm water. Unless you have a better option.....

Fished the hazelwood pondage today. Couldn't have been worse weather. Started blowing through the night and ended up going nuts as the day progressed. There were about 14 other boats out and no one that we talked to got a touch. The Churchill side of the lake was being pounded by waves well over a metre and we nearly ran aground after we stalled on the bad side. Not good in a little tinny. We had to resort to bait in the shadow of the island and got one tilapia. We lasted 4 1/2 hours.
Still better than working but not by a lot.

Haven't been to the pondage in a while. Benders did you try the hot water outlet?

Might start fishing it again in the next few days/weeks.
Those who score reasonable weather with the ballot pick seem to do better although I have landed a couple in shallow fishing absolutely disgusting conditions.

Then the fish that haunts me was a solid fish hooked up it threw the hook leaping when I was fishing land based.
Might put myself into the ballot for March

got donuts there today.
fished from 6am and gave up at 10am and left
didnt mark a single fish on the sounder, and the jetski brigade turned up as we were retrieveing, so maybe it was a good call to leave.
about 15 trailers in the carpark, and even less boats on the water
no idea where they were hiding.
one thing that baffled me was we seen a bass boat launch as we were launching, but then never seen it on the water again.
got no idea where they disapeared to. my only guess was went right inside the no fishing zone area.

You reckon. That's where the fish are holding.
I was tempted to go inside and have a look.

No doubt there's more fish holding in the Poacher Paul and there will be no early fish Dave Kramer spot.

Must ask though did those who caught nothing not go to Cranbourne or Mornington TW because apparently they have all the knowledge.
