Boat limits
Gday folks,
Reading a recently closed thread I got thinking of what current saltwater boat catch limits are? I was under the impression that 40 fish per person, or 80 per boat was the case. Having a look at the regs just now, and buggered if I can find the ruling! Can anyone help point me in the right direction please? It's usually quality over quantity for me, however I still like to know the facts. Cheers.

Re: Boat limits
If your talking about KGW as an example Bag/possession limit is 20 per person so as long as there are 4 fishermen with a licence each then 80 legal fish on a boat shoudn't be a problem.
A smart person knows what to say. A wise person knows whether to say it.

Re: Boat limits
Thanks Boony! I'm aware of bag limits, however what if you had several bag limits of various species on board? Eg. KG, squid, frogs, reds (you get my drift). There used to be a boat limit applicable, but can't seem to find that info atm.Boonanza wrote:If your talking about KGW as an example Bag/possession limit is 20 per person so as long as there are 4 fishermen with a licence each then 80 legal fish on a boat shoudn't be a problem.

Re: Boat limits
I hope you're wrong man! That means there's nothing stopping me bagging out on several species and landing/killing over 100 fish for the session! This can't be right, surely.4liters wrote:Pretty sure we don't have boat limits in Vic, some other states do though

Re: Boat limits
Except for angler skill/luck, There's technically nothing standing in the way of you going out for a day on the bay and killing your bag of every species that's in the book and 5 each of those that aren't.
Provided it's not wasted it doesn't concern me if people do it though.
