G'day gents,

Previously I have posted about advice on farming worms (viewtopic.php?f=105&t=17176) and I am back to report my worm farm.

I recently went fishing at Lake Eppalock (viewtopic.php?f=105&t=17203)and while I was there some older guys fishing next to us gifted me his bought worms and I thought to myself it could be an opportunity to try breed and grow them at home. Upon taking them home I filled an empty pot where a plant had once was and put the worms in there with another bucket on top.

For the past week I have been feeding them and watering them. When watering them I notice some of them coming out to eat and they had grown and more had be produced.

Today, I decided to find a tub and drill some holes in the bottom and fill it. I watered the base and emptied it so that when the worms were moved they would love it. I poured the pot of worms into the container and noticed there was way more worms than I had thought AND THEY WERE BIGGER. I took some photos and will be attaching them.

Reminder to self: Wear gloves to prevent smelling like you puked on your hands. :(

Just had a quick look at your photos the bedding (dirt) seems to be a bit wet worms breathe through their skin and if the bedding is to wet (believe it or not they can drown). Try to keep it like a damp sponge. there are plenty of good wright ups on the net
