Wash down every trip and a squirt of inox. Full service once a season or if anything doesn't feel right.

Roughly once a year I'll clean everything in the rack. Wipe down with a wet inox filled rag and oil the basic moving parts.

Definitely don't wash my gear after every session. Just whenever it's copped a hiding in salt spray or I have. Thing better to do after a session like sleep.

Thats a suprise from.someone who owns a few expensive bits of gear.

I always give it a quick spray from the hose on mist setting.

Yet to have any gear failures except for a line roller bearing on a Caldia a few years ago. I wash them if they get covered in salt and they never get dunked. In an ordinary session you don't get that much crap on a reel to warrant a wash imo.
