Re: Cleaning and sorting gear
Wash down every trip and a squirt of inox. Full service once a season or if anything doesn't feel right.
Re: Cleaning and sorting gear
I allways clean gear after a session. What I mean as in general sorting cleaning today old lines come off new on. Re rigg sort out what needs to be thrown out and be replaced. And clean

Re: Cleaning and sorting gear
Roughly once a year I'll clean everything in the rack. Wipe down with a wet inox filled rag and oil the basic moving parts.
Definitely don't wash my gear after every session. Just whenever it's copped a hiding in salt spray or I have. Thing better to do after a session like sleep.

I always give it a quick spray from the hose on mist setting.

Re: Cleaning and sorting gear
Yet to have any gear failures except for a line roller bearing on a Caldia a few years ago. I wash them if they get covered in salt and they never get dunked. In an ordinary session you don't get that much crap on a reel to warrant a wash imo.purple5ive wrote:Thats a suprise from.someone who owns a few expensive bits of gear.ducky wrote:Roughly once a year I'll clean everything in the rack.
