I'm not sure how they got there but there is definately native fish there I caught 2 silver perch there one evening on worms under a float and also saw a yellowbelly on another occasion caught by someone else as well but it wasn't a big fish maybe 30cm

It amazes me there could be a population of natives in there when you consider how much the lake shrinks during summer. There are lots of clear shrimps(forest gump) in there aswell,so heaps of food for the food chain

I was talking to one of the blokes from the angling club there one day and he said that someone local had put them in there after draining their own dam which had natives in there. How true this is I'm not sure but I know they weren't put there by fisheries ;-)

That would make sense.I remember the yellowbelly that was caught was nearly as long as the blokes forearm so it was fairly big.i wouldn't be surprised if locals had stocked it.in the late 80s as teenagers we used to fish there but there were only ever reddies and trout back then...or so I thought.

I lived in Greensborough & we used to fish there & blue lake this would have been at least 30 years ago. There were some thumping trout in there back then.

We used to fish in blue lake too but never caught anything although others did catch reddies. We also caught roach and eels in the diamond creek and used to sell the eels to Sam the fish n chip shop man for a dollar each
