Re: Excitement!
I personally don't use pulley rigs where I fish land based. No doubt they make casting a bit easier, but I'm not convinced they're really necessary along the channels on our main urban rivers - you just need a reasonably long cast to reach productive water with a light surf rod. The bigger issue is playing a big fish around structure landbased - be it pylons, submerged rock, or just plain old snaggy territory on the bottom.

I'm excited too, hoping to meet some forum members and gain some more experience over bent rods.

Re: Excitement!
Haven't got excited over Snapper season in a few years but this one I am looking forward to. Hopefully the weather comes to the party when I am able to fish.TheLoneTurtle wrote:Oh my god...
Snapper season is only like 1-2 months away :super: .
I am going shopping tomorrow and i would like to get a land based rod that can handle snapper up to 4 kg and also a good reel for casting.
Thinking about getting a 2.7 meter Shakespeare rod from Anaconda for $80. Also anybody know any good snapper rigs for the season?
Anyway so i am pretty much just getting prepared for the season
