Bloody beautiful to eat. Used to target them down near seal rocks. Really clean white meat and nice flavour

Never caught one before, anyone know much about their movements, peak seasons and how to target them?

Used to get a good run of them off Cunningham pier Geelong at the right time of year, bucket full catches were common, I haven't fished that pier for a long time so I'm not sure if it still happens.4liters wrote:Never caught one before, anyone know much about their movements, peak seasons and how to target them?

That was the first fish i ever caught at Portland. Pulled up at the ramp car park a bit later in the afternoon, i was so excited to be in Portland i ripped my light outfit out and started casting tiny metals off the jetty and hooked him after a couple casts.
