Never caught one before, anyone know much about their movements, peak seasons and how to target them?

Used to get a good run of them off Cunningham pier Geelong at the right time of year, bucket full catches were common, I haven't fished that pier for a long time so I'm not sure if it still happens.

That was the first fish i ever caught at Portland. Pulled up at the ramp car park a bit later in the afternoon, i was so excited to be in Portland i ripped my light outfit out and started casting tiny metals off the jetty and hooked him after a couple casts.
