in saying that though nothing wrong with using it i9n fresh and vice versa if you give it a good wash down after use..
generally though not many people give a damn and use it all over the place with mixed results.

i should have worded my post a bit better.

saltwater reels can be used in fresh and salt without any issues
freshwater only reels needs to have some care taken after used in salt.

I use lighter gear in fresh, than salt
Unless targeting cod, max of 8lb in fresh
In salt usually 15lb
I have seen 30lb braid used and successfully so, in fresh
I am land based

Lol
Loosing $20 lures is part of the deal for me when fishing. The bream fishing is the worst...
But last time i checked those bricks you had on the boat last time weren't cheap either. ..

Squid jigs $25 each
Jig heads 5 pack $10 plus plastic about $10 packet
Hmmm

Most of the 8oz + size sinkers i got of my pa before he died so didnt cost me anything lol
The rest i buy in bulk off ebay. Lol
6ox size cost about $4 each dont use in Victoria
4 oz size cost about $2 each hardly use
2oz size cost about $1.30 each. Most likely to use and loose
Ans small i go cheaper they get

Im lucky if on average we loose 1 per trip or mite not loose any fir months then 3 on 1 day.

Worse day out was at bermagui we lost 6 x 6oz sinkers and i had to buy more up there at about $8 each from memory and that was few years ago now
