good luck, tamboon is a magical place, make sure you dont forget to turn off at the camp site, otherwise you will find out the hard way that doing a U turn in the rainforests isnt an easy task....
ps if you can make it then i recomend the sand dunes its awsome!!!

I'm told by one of the locals the fishing is pretty poor at the moment... Hopefully I can have a surf fish if it's within an easy walk distance?

In my experience, there is no such thing as "poor" fishing in that part of the world - you just have to be creative and think about your options when a particular / well known location or species isn't firing. For example, if the bream are not on, try casting the sand flats for flathead, or head up river for perch / bass in the snags. Or maybe try a rock edge for luderick, etc, etc.

never surf fished down that way, so im not sure how far of a walk it is.

A couple bream at 30cm which were released and a beautiful little blue spot at 32cm which will he going in the pan tonight!! Hopefully another couple.. yummo

The bream are damn quick around here. Smashing baits in the blink of an eye.

I surely will mate. Hoping I can get myself some prawns too! Would top off the seafood bonanza. Might be a couple days too early before the new moon though.
