Not cool keeping prawns on ice for a week if you intend to eat them (pun intended)!

Kimtown, if you are having trouble with storing fish, I used to store mine at the Marlo General Store in their commercial freezer when I was camping down that way. Then you can just pick up your catch (and some ice in the esky) when you drive back to Melbourne. The proprietors won't mind as long as you repay their generosity by purchasing some goods from the store (particularly at this time of year when it's not too busy down there).

Thanks very much for the useful advice mate, that's really handy.bilby wrote:Kimtown, if you are having trouble with storing fish, I used to store mine at the Marlo General Store in their commercial freezer when I was camping down that way. Speaking of Marlo, is it a bar crossing there or an open entrance?

I wouldn’t dare crossing the bar at Marlo. People do cross it though. But it’s shallow and can be unpredictable. Head down to salmon rocks and launch there. No bar to cross just need to avoid some rocks.

I don't own a boat, but from what I know of the Marlo entrance, crossing it would be a very bad idea on most days.

That's a great trip ahead there Kimtown
If you set foot in NSW territory - please be careful with their "possession limit" rules.
Not sure how they will view the catches you have made in Vic waters though - usually just a straight 7 hours drive to Merimbula for me, with a pit stop at Lakes Entrance.
Pretty sure many on here can clarify that situation for you.
Look forward to see your reports from the trip
