Help needed with reel

Post by STriplett1997 » Sun Mar 18, 2018 10:18 pm

So.... after my session on the sand last night, I woke up this morning and went to clean my reels and rods like I normally do. I usually just use a displacer to rid of sand/salt etc.. but this time there was a lot of sand stuck in where the bail arm spring is etc. I decided to unscrew that section and clean it out quickly which I’m really regretting now. As I was doing that a part got misplaced and stupid me didn’t realise I had the handbook for all the parts etc and tried putting it in a place it wasn’t meant to go.. and well, this happened. The click pin is stuck in the little hole where the bail trip lever is suppose to go. No idea how to get it out, I’ve tried using a pin to get underneath it, tweasers don’t work lol, I’ve tried gently hammering the bail arm hoping it’ll pop out. Without getting the click pin out the bail arm
Doesn’t work properly at all. The reel is a Shimano Baitrunner OC 6000. If anyone has any ideas or knows what to do your comment would be appreciated. Image attached

Just a thought. Seems like the little spring is acting like a self tapping screw and has locked the click pin in place. Is it possible to get a pin underneath it to raise it a little so you can get some purchase with a pair of needle nose pliers, then either try unscrewing it or simply just wrench it out (which might destroy the spring). Not an expert, but operationally, I don’t think it will impact the performance of the bail arm if the click pin is missing.

Has nothing to do with the spring. The click pin has just fallen into the wrong place and now won’t come out. It needs to come out for the bail arm to work properly. I’ve tried putting a pin underneath but very hard

bugger i though the pin would be metal atleast!
only other option i can think of is using something like blutack on it and pulling it out that way. or superglue a ear bud stem to it and pull it out that way
