Help: Fishing Rod to suit Shimano Stradic FK 4000

Post by davo_j » Wed Mar 21, 2018 11:54 am

Hi Guys,

I have received Shimano Stradic FK 4000 reel as a present :super:

I need some advice regarding a fishing rod that will suit this reel.
I'm looking for a rod that will suit both bait fishing off pier/beach and Lure fishing.

Im not sure if there is one for these purposes, but all advice on this would be appreciated!

Thanks In advance

Go too 2 or 3 local tackle shops and take the reel with you. Ask staff for assistance in selecting rod, you need to know what you want - Line Breaking Strain / Line you want to use - Braid, Mono Etc. as well as the type of fishing you want to use it for, Bait / Spin / Troll etc. Ask if you can attach the reel so that you can ascertain what it "Feels like". If they will not, walk out.

Good advice....try a daiwa generation black v2 humphead whilst you're in the shop (sales on everywhere at the moment)

How much do you want to spend ? Personally I like the shimano catana range, price isn't over the top and they are a good quality range of rods.
He who has the most fishing rods WINS ! :ts:

I'm happy to spend up to $170 which is what bcf have the daiwa generation black on offer for till 29/03. But cheaper would be great, I'll certainly consider the Catana range. I'll be getting a rod this weekend so I'll keep browsing and hear all advice :)
