Yes I used garlic but it was falling apart on the hook, am I supposed to place it in the fridge the day before?rb85 wrote:Did you end up marinating it in garlic. Re: Forum for asking Fishing Questions
I haven’t done anything special in the past. Just placed it back in the freezer after I’m done with it.Elly27 wrote:What is the proper way to thaw out, I am guessing to just place it in the fridge?brybry wrote:Most baits work for mullet. My personal favourite is white bait, but have caught heaps on maggots, chicken marinated overnight in tuna oil, bread, dough, sandworm or whatever.
Never had trouble with chicken falling apart. Can only assume it’s not properly thawed out (?).
Keep your baits and hooks tiny and fish as light as you can. And burley.

In terms of the garlic why do you do that?Elly27 wrote:Yes I used garlic but it was falling apart on the hook, am I supposed to place it in the fridge the day before?rb85 wrote:Did you end up marinating it in garlic. I just use the chicken as it is and have never had a problem with it.
Sometimes I use a bit of tuna oil in my burley but that’s about it.

I saw a video from the Hook and the Cook where they marinated it in garlic, can you confirm I need to refrigerate it before using it?Lightningx wrote:In terms of the garlic why do you do that?Elly27 wrote:Yes I used garlic but it was falling apart on the hook, am I supposed to place it in the fridge the day before?rb85 wrote:Did you end up marinating it in garlic. Leave it in the sun so it dries up and stays on the hook better

Re: Forum for asking Fishing Questions
I personally wouldn’t even marinate it in garlic and prepare it that way if all you are trying to catch is some mullets.

Okay I will just use it as is, I think next time I will place it in the fridge the day before I use it as it was just breaking apart when I was cutting it.Lightningx wrote:I personally wouldn’t even marinate it in garlic and prepare it that way if all you are trying to catch is some mullets.

Are you cutting it with a knife or a brick?
