Full Moon Surf Fishing

Hey Guys,

Saturday Night is a Full Moon and low wind so i am gonna head down to Jan Juc beach with a mate, we have fresh caught salmon for bait. Has anyone had any luck at Jan Juc? If you live around the area come join us.

Now I'm absolutely no gun fisherman but in my experience I've found that fishing is actually better about 3 days before a full moon.....squid being the exception like a full moon because there's more light to hunt.

Weather looks good so I might pop down and say hi.

I was down there not long ago. Managed to get some sambos just before dark and as I was walking back to the car park saw a couple of groups geared for a night session.
Should be a good night for a fish mate. Good luck :thumbsup:

Think I know what you may be getting at...
I haven't hit the beaches, but I've heard good stories about that one. I'd suggest using the daylight hrs on Sat to catch some "fresh" bait. Days old is far from fresh compared to being caught within hrs of being used. Squid would be my prime bait. Gives you a chance of a welcomed bycatch of a gumbo or schoolie.

Decided to head down tomorrow night instead, will bring my salmon, pilchards and some squid. Cheers guys!

I fished on Sunday and the moon was so bright XD. It was so unusually quiet, not even a single bite. Maybe full moon isn't good?
