Winch strap

Post by crumpet_avenger » Sun Jul 29, 2018 4:18 pm

Went out on the weekend after 3 months off due to a heavy work load and got a nice gummy. Pretty happy...

Unfortunately the winch strap on my tralier broke. The latch on the end of the strap ripped off half way up the ramp. (Luckily the safety chain was on)

Anyone ever replaced these? Where do I buy them? Im away for work and tryen to let my old man know where to get 1 so he can get it this week..
Ive looked in Google and it said ebay was the best option.
Bcf looked cheap and nasty.
Or should i replace the whole winch?

I would just replace the entire winch not to expensive unbolt re bolt on.

Purchased one a few months back for the same reason you did was an Atlantic winch so far so good. Most boat shops should be able to help I got mine from PI marine. Personally im with your old man ubolt the old one make sure the shape and mounting holes suit your trailer and the winch rating suits your boat weight the time it takes to bolt on the new one should be sweet f all.

I'm sure I seen winch straps at supercheap auto, other than that the trailer places will stock them, cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them
