How would you have gone with the pin corroded and stuck? Not having a go just looked like salt hadn't got to your winch.

Re: Winch strap
you can buy replacement winch straps from bcf, i just bought one recently after my cousin wound the strap through the meshing gears on the winch and ****** up the strap.
and use the pic matt has provided to remove and replace. some have a slide in the middle of the pin that holds it in, so you have to unroll the whole strap to see if its that type, if it already has the roll pin as shown in matts pic, then thats how it comes out

Re: Winch strap
Just replace the strap the new winch will have the same strap on it from the same factory in China the winches are made. Unless your winch is damaged or worn out save your money or upgrade and put a dyneema rope on

Re: Winch strap
It would work depending on the age of the winch and condition mine was fairly old and the pins etc were well corroded. Also wanted to go fishing the next day so a quick easy changeover was what I wanted.Mattblack wrote:Wd40, a nail punch & a big hammer...or you could drill it out.rb85 wrote:How would you have gone with the pin corroded and stuck?
