how to work out how much to sell my boat for..

Post by jasew3 » Wed Nov 07, 2018 7:10 am

Gday All
Just wanting some advice as im thinking of selling my boat which I hardly use anymore due to a few personal reasons.
I have a 4mtr stacer casting deck boat with a 30 horsepower engine plus a foot pedal silent motor up the front of the boat (1996) .everything is in reasonable nick but no time to make use of it , my question is how much to I put on the price tag for a fair price for myself and the buyer.I have pics but not sure how to post here or should I post the boat on gumtree?
Cheers Jase

That is a conundrum working out how much to sell your boat for.

I would suggest look at the boating sale sites such as boatpoint and compare with what other similar boats are selling for.

Once you have decided, put it on Gumtree and post the link here, so if any one here is interested they can have a look.

Got any pics mate? How much are you thinking it’s worth? At that age a lot depends on the state of the motor and trailer. Cos the hulls are bloody cheap and it costs more for a trailer than it does for a hull pretty much.

As a buyer, $5k given its age, less if something like a trailer is rat ****, bit more if all immaculate. New setup similar is only $13k

Agree 6k is a bit much for this rig would be a good asking price.

I would have thought you would have easily got 7k maybe 8k for yours though, which brand of motor and how much HP?
