Boat ramp Mallacoota?

Post by smile0784 » Sun Jan 13, 2019 4:23 am

A few people have said there is a new boat ramp (not a beach launch) ans concrete ramp at Mallacoota so you can get to Gabo island and out to the shelf for game fiah but can't find any info on it.

Does anyone know more about it?

Bastian Point. Two ramps and jetty in between. Silts up with sand but they dredge it regularly. Plenty of parking
Was there the week before xmas and it was fine.

Scored some tailor in the north east corner of the bottom lake. Walk up the ocean beach . No duskies.

It’s a fair run to the shelf, about 40km.

Provided it’s dredged it’s a fairly straightforward ramp? But sand does build up at the end of the rock wall which can create a bit of a bar.

We had less than half a metre of water across it last year in feb, which made for an interesting entry back to the ramp.

It would be interesting if a ground swell arrived that would have lit up broken boards during a marlin run.
