Best boat is someone else's boat.
so when are you taking us all out in your boat then?
You Might actually learn to catch some fish in the process too ;-)

Little over budget ..Screenshot_20190429-212748.jpgScreenshot_20190429-212756.jpg
i would get that because it has everything you need granted it a little expensive but id take that over any fibre glass boat
And yet this, for not much more plus a drive to Queensland is a far better boat than the generic 4.2m boats Telwater pump out. Theres absolutely no comparison between the Haines and the Stacer/Quintrex/Savage.

And it's fibreglass
How old the haines? . still fibreglass n be full of rot ?
To many boats kayak, helicopter , catch a fish, catch a fish

Somewhere between mid 70s-early 90s. This one looks to have the floor and thwart seating rebuilt, to hard to say about rot without physically looking at it and even then without cutting into the floor/stringers/transom you don't 100% know. Which is why my first post said the op should stick to alloy boats with only $6k to spend as picking up hull faults is easier, and a comparable boat is cheaper as they're not subject to things like the Haines tax

For that sort of money you are looking at a 4.2m tinny or slightly larger. Something like a Quintrex wide body Dory would be great. Most definitely dont go any smaller.

Dony worry too much about optional extras, those sorts of things can be picked up later. Just make sure whatever you get has a solid hull, trailer and outboard. The other stuff is secondary.
The only thing better than serenity is a two stroke at full throttle!

You’ll get a smoother ride and less hassles with a tiller steer
