The less technology the better in my opinion. Isn't the whole point of going fishing to get away from the phone and the pressures of the world?

if i wanted peace and quiet i would take up yoga or similar not fishing!!
Technology most certainly has its place. in this latest incarnation, maybe not so much. im not a fan of the rod but it might certainly be of use to someone else who knows..
i most certainly will not go fishing without my sounder these days though, thats where technology actually helps in my situation..

Wow this has gone to a 3 page topic, from fancy rod to a business model and millennial generation.

There's always two sides of a story I guess, each with pros and cons.

I like my fly fishing coz it hasn't changed for years, its so simple.
Yet, I also like baitcasting with its tech and all and keep adding new tech.

Sonic the Hedgehog is a game of skill ,my 4 year old grand son is loving it. Was only joking about making a fishing rod to have an app of sonic. The rod and reel i am working on will be 12 volt motor operated, DC , a member from here did inquire about it not long ago,i don't know how that went, but ever since i heard about her wanting to catch her first fish i have been working on it on and off. My heart goes to all involved. I am still waiting on parts to come from e bay. I will put it up on here, but if anyone wants to improve it or has an idea to add ,by all means.
