Target One Million....is it working?

Post by April Fool » Sat Jul 20, 2019 2:01 pm

Hi all
Whilst fisheries have a grand plan of attracting a gazillion people to fishing, I am wondering if they are achieving their goal? I have heard unnoficially that some research has pointed to the fact that the T1M campaign may not be attracting that many people to fishing.

What have members here noticed? Are your local spots busier than they used to be? Do you have to go further to find quiet spots? I have noticed what seems to be more rubbish left around some spots I go but I have a feeling this may be due to the locations being publicised locally.

I think it will get more busier once the ramps are made free.

Lots of fish stockings have increased. So only a matter of time I'd say.

Can’t really see how free boat ramps will increase boat use...it makes up for about 0.1% of annual boat costs

Lakes Entrance gets busier every year. Not sure if it is target. 1mil or just more attracted to offshore with the bar being better and the wave monitoring helping people work out conditions. The lake isn't gaining supporters as the fishing is tough going. Lots could be done to improve the lake fishing but never hear any worthwhile proposals for it.
There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.
