Previous dredging killed 95% of the PPB flathead population and resulted in failed snapper spawning.

Seagrass etc all suffered.

There was a very noticeable drop in flathead catches after the dredging. For a few years I hardly saw any flathead catches off the piers when it used to be impossible to avoid them in the past. It's finally getting better every year and now we're going to do it all over again...

95% is obviously an exaggeration but i wouldn't be surprised if it was over 50% because that's what it feels like. Snapper seem to be less affected though.

would this kind of thing effect squid fishing in the north end of ppb because of lack of visibility and poor water quality?

I would think so ..squid won't be in murky water only clean.
