Re: about time!!
hey mate,
Check the shift shaft connections down on the motor, near the gearbox. Some of the tohatsu engines used split pins/roll pins and they can sometimes break or fall out.
If you kneel down on either side of the motor you should see it just above the cavatation plate. slim chance, but could be that.
Other way to check, is disconnect the shift cable from the motor and try put the motor into gear. You will need to have someone turn the prop at the same time by hand (as to not damage the gears)

I just got back from the service shop.
The cable is broken. The reverse levers/cogs in the motor are not moving when the controls are being moved at the console.
I'll have to give this a go myself at home as almost every shop is busy atm..

Re: about time!!
Learn something new everyday.
Todays lesson - how to change control gear cable in a boat.
Seems fairly straight forward, just chasing the cables back is what's going to be the hard part.
New cables are $87 each.
I'm replacing both control and accelerator cable in case the other one breaks soon

Re: about time!!
Yep it broke In reverse gear so its stuck in reverse. Shouldn't be a problem when the new cables are installed

I thought you installed the center consul not that long ago ? strange for a cable to break so soon ?purple5ive wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2019 8:09 amThanks for that mate.repspec wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2019 6:25 amhey mate,
