About this marvelous idea before the consultation period closed on the 6th? Effectively makes the whole river a transit zone meaning no boat or kayak based fishing. Convienently enough, elite private school rowing programs are virtually unaffected....

The issue is it’s a thoroughfare the no stopping effects fisherman and the provisons for clubs. Sets bad precedents

game over for the guys that fished the yarra on a watercraft..
from what im reading, all vessels are affected, including rowing clubs.

does docklands qualify as part of the yarra? from what I read it affects waters upstream of the bolte bridge and I was hoping to fish docklands on my yak

Saw that on VR Fish fb page. They restrict bridges, jetties, etc. Which where the fish are.

It’s why they are running a target 1 mil campaign pretending they care about fishing take license fees then block the Yarra.

is the fishing really that good upstream from docklands and the city? Seems pretty ridiculous that they're doing this anyway...

I think it's done by Park Vic, not by the fisheries.
On the VR fish page, they said they'd talk to fisheries and to Jaala Pulford the minister.
